Nor-Cal superstar Rachel Lloyd(Cal Giant Inc.) delivers a strong ride in Tervuren, Belgium, on January 4, 2009. Lloyd spends some time in the lead solo before taking part in a battle with past World Champion Daphny van den Brand (Ned) (ZZPR.nl-Destil-Merida) for the overall win. A late race crash set Lloyd back near the end of the race. On the line Lloyd finishes a mere 31 seconds off the win, claiming her first ever European podium for Cyclocross. Helen Wyman (GBr) (Guerciotti) was third on the day out of the 28 finishers.
